Dangerous, I know, but I can not stop it!!
So I picked up the Jan/feb issue of Crochet Today, and I was thinking as I keep seeing familiar names, How cool is it that I know some of these designers!! For Instance, cover pattern and awesome boot pattern came from Lady Linoleum (monster crochet), aka Regina, adv then another one was from Tammy Snow (roxycraft). I think, wow I have purchased patterns from both of them directly, I could email them if I wanted to!!! I guess it is kind of like a celebrity status!
I do not know I guess this brings my crochet dorkiness to a new level!

I am almost finished with my son's requested Kitty, so hopefully if my camera does not poop on me, I will have more work up very soon. Now that the holiday craziness is gone, I can actually sit and crochet for a second!

Long time, no blog

Oops, I had not realized it had been so long since I had posted. My bad. I have kinda been busy. I had a job at a factory for a while, They did not seem to run things very well though. I worked 13 days straight, was off for a couple of days, on for 4 more days, then off again. Not very stable at all. But I just found out this week that I will be starting on Monday at Blue Cross Blue Shield of MI, a heath insurance company. This is an awesome opportunity, and I am not going to have to worry about my job security! I am sure heath insurance is not going anywhere!!

I do have some finished projects, not all crochet, I have been giving my sewing machine some exercise lately. I will try really hard to get and post pictures very soon.

. . . sorta. I have been trying to pick it up at least once a day. It is very hard when everything is so up in the air (regarding work). Michigan is such a crap place to live right now. But anyways, I am so proud of myself, I completed this little cutie in ONE DAY! I tested the pattern for Stormy, and he turned out adorable!

So it absolutely amazes me that less then 2 weeks ago it was sunny and 50 degrees, and all the snow was gone. And now it has been in the single digits to high teens all this week and we now have over a foot of snow on the ground!

So even though it is going to be quite crappy to drive in today, it sure is beautiful!!

I made a hoodie!!!!! I am not only a crochet addict, I also know how to sew!!! Except I really need to get a better chair for my machine, the dining room chairs really suck to sit in for too long. I will post the tute I followed (kinda) when crafters is back up from maintenance. The pic is kinda dark, I used a purpleish/grey camo and black.

don't you just love the camera in the face mirror pics!!!! It is the only way I could get a pic that looked half-way decent. I will try to get better pics up soon.

Oops I have been neglecting my blog!!!! I have been busy trying to get toys done for the many children in my life for Christmas presents. I think I am all done, I guess I will find out on Saturday, that is my last holiday party. I need to takes more pics of my latest projects, hopefully I will do that soon.

It's SUPERMAN!!!! I made this for one of my best friends. He LOVES Superman. I took this pattern and just changed it from a girl to boy, and substituted colors as needed. I made the cap and chest shield on my sewing machine. He was so much fun to make, and he turned out so cute, that I want to keep him! I will have to make another one! Enjoy!

So I am still off of work, but have been using my time to get a few projects done. First I worked up this cute bag for a Christmas present for my Aunt. I got the pattern from one of the ladies at Crochetville. It is called Waves of Color Tote. It worked up super quick and turned out great!

This is a close up to try to better show the colors. My camera did not do a good job of capturing the colors very well.

And I have joined the Fat Bottom Bag craze!! This is a pattern from Stitch 'N Bitch: Happy Hooker.

I got to break in my bamboo hook on the grey/pink one. I used a bigger hook, and added rows. I took a pic to show the size difference between the two. The camo one is done as the pattern stated.

So yesterday started out crappy. I am once again on temporary lay off. But it ended up awesome!!!!

First off, I participated in yet another exchange (I am addicted!!!). This time with Minibooger from Crochet for Life. I had a blast making and putting together this package for her. It was a Halloween/Autumn exchange.

Mine first: I made her a cute little purse/bag in Beautiful wine county fall colors. I also made her a cute little alien brain sucker/octopus, and I included a couple goodies along with the package.

Now, what she sent me. I was amazed at how much she shoved into this box! I was TOTALLY spoiled. She was an awesome partner, and I feel bad that I did not send her more. She made me this awesome black Halloween bag with a spider web and spider on it, and pirate skull lining! She also sent: The movie Darkcity, some very cute decorations (a witch sign, spiders, a cat and sparkly bat) an assortment of tea (yummy) coca, candy, TONS of pattern sheets, the latest issue of Crochet Today! (which has an article about Regina from Monster Crochet in it, and a gift card!!! I could not believe she spoiled me SO much!!!

And finally. Apparently I had bitched about this book long enough that my hubby agreed to let me go and buy it. I am over the moon!!!!!

So I get to go back to work today. I am so sick of this yo-yo crap. I am looking into any other option, but right now MI is so unstable. I went onto a local job search site, and there are 16,500 without jobs, and only 550 jobs posted. How sad is that!!!

Anyways, I have gotten some crocheting in. I have to take pics of my latest projects, I will get around to it soon.

So the good news first. My wonderful daddy has come to the rescue! He dropped by to inspect my dryer, and thankfully it was just a bad breaker. An inexpensive fix. My dryer is now running perfectly!

and the bad news. I am once again laid off. I wish my job was more stable. I hate wondering from day to day if I am going to be going to work or not. Unfortunately there is not much else out there, especially since I have worked at the same place for over 8 years. Any entry level position would not pay me what I am making now. My options are dwindling very quickly. ::sigh:: All I can do is keep going forward, and look for any opportunity I can, I suppose.

So my life has been quite interesting lately. On Monday, out dryer literally went up in smoke. It was not fun, but thank goodness it did not start on fire. So we found a used dryer that is only 2 years old and in great condition. So we get it home last night and hooked up and I test it out. Works great, for the first 2 loads. Now for some reason it will not dry!!!! So I looked on line to try to trouble-shoot the problem, and it could be any of 7 things!!! We do not have the money to call a repair man, and neither of us are technical enough in dryers to fix it ourselves. I have no clue what we are going to do. The little we had saved up is now sitting in our laundry room broken! Well if we figure it out, I will let you know!

I have been impressed that I am still finding time to crochet!
First, from the very talented Regina at Monster Crochet, my Crabius Minimus (well I suppose he would be the maximum). I like how he turned out, but I really had to push myself at the end to get his legs finished. I will be setting this pattern aside for a while. I used an f hook and baby bernat coordinates in bonbon blue. For size reference, that is a 2 liter soda bottle next to him.

I also tested a couple of patterns:
First, a very cute lil' pretties cat from Stormyz crochet:

Next, I tested a Brain sucker! This one was for Nutsaboutcrochet. He turned out very cute, although he is hogging the computer!

And finally, it was my best friend's birthday a couple weeks ago, and she is a pirate freak! I got a pattern for a pirate panda a while ago from Amy Gaine's etsy shop I thought she would be perfect for my buddies birthday!

Exchange post!!! Sorry I have been neglecting my blog lately. Having 2 kids under 3 is interesting to say the least!

So Back in august I was involved in Crochet Depot's Harry Potter scarf exchange!! I was lucky enough to once again get my new friend Andy! He was so generous, and spoiled me greatly!!
First I will show part of what I sent him. We all took a survey and were assigned one of the 4 houses of Hogwart's. Andy is a Ravenclaw, and I am a Gryffindor. I used the scarf design from the 3rd year movie as my guide

I also made him a snitch!

I included some beautiful fat quarters in, at least what I thought, where wizardy prints. 3 of them looked like stars and sparkles, and one was very swirly. Of course I forgot to take pictures!

Now, for my package!!! I got spoiled!!!

So I really should be posting pics of my recent swap, but I am very excited because I just finished my Monster Purse!!! I LOVE how this turned out, and am very tempted to use this as my everyday purse. I love the colors, it reminds me of the muppet monsters. I got the idea from this post on Craftster. So without further delay:

Here is the pattern I made for my version. This is a very open-ended pattern with limit-less possibilities.

L hook
6 - 8 balls of novelty (I used Bernat Boa)
1 skein of acrylic (I used Red Heart super saver)
Felt, fabric, or other embellishments

beginning ch 2 counts as first stitch (you can use ch 3 also)
You are working your ch as height, and building up width with additional rows
Hold all 3 strands together as you work

ch 82
row 1 - dc in third ch from hook, and in each ch across (80)ch 2 and turn
row 2 - dc in each st across (80)
Repeat row 2 until you get the desired width.

I worked mine 32 inches in height, and appox. 12 inches in width.

this is how I folded my bag:

sew sides of bag together and add eyes, teeth etc.
I used my sewing machine to put on the teeth, eyes, handle, and lining.
Feel free to add any extras you can think of. multiple eyes, cyclops, hair bows, etc. Like I said this is a very open pattern.

I really hope this pattern is not too scatter-brained! It is getting quite late, and I am tired! If you have any problems, leave me a message!

So thankfully I am not still preggo!!! I had my newest addition on August 15 @ 5:02am, he entered the world at a nice 7 lbs 2 ozs, 20.5 inches long. Except for a slight scare because he had a knot in his cord, everything went great and both of us are doing wonderful. Big brother is a punk and is mad he has to share momma now, but he is adjusting.

In other aspects of my life, I participated in another swap with the Depot, but that is going to have to wait for my next post.

So I am still very preggo! I was hoping this little monster would have been as nice as his brother and come a little early, but it is not looking that way :( Oh well, I guess he is really comfortable, which with the heat wave we are having, I do not blame him at all! As you can see by my ticker a few posts down, I am 38 1/2 weeks. I have now decided that I was waaaayyyy to spoiled with my first little man. I went to my 38 week appointment, and was feeling great, no contractions, nothing. Then I woke up the next day in labor, and had him that night. This one, I have had irregular mild contractions on and off for the last couple days, and everyday I feel worse. More heavy and ready to go! And he has not decided to come earlier. Oh well, not much I can do about it but sit here and wait until my body decides it is time to go! I can not wait until he gets here. I am very anxious to meet him and see if he looks like his brother when he was born or not. My back and my bladder also can not wait!!!! I will be so glad when I do not have to pee every hour!!! Oh well enough complaining!
Once again, I have completed a couple more projects, I just have to get the camera out and post them. I will try not to be too lazy!!!

I love how this one turned out! I used this Doll pattern. I was not to sure about the colors while I was working on her, but I love how they turned out. I can not wait to make another one. Her dress turned out a bit tight and short, so I will have to remember to use a bigger hook next time.

So once again the managers of Crochet Depot have done it again! They have found an interesting exchange/swap that I had a blast doing, and I was more then spoiled by my swap partner.

First I am posting pics of the tote I made and sent to my partner.

I LOVE how this bag turned out, and I might just have to make another one for myself! I used good old Red heart yarn, and this pattern: Retro Mosaic Yarn Tote. I used various shades of blue, and I almost looks like waves to me! I lined the bag with a pretty blotchy blue print.

I also wanted to send my partner more then just a tote, so I made a Dragon!!!! I love his colors!

And now, for what my partner sent to me!

I could not believe my eyes when I opened the box! My bag is GORGEOUS!!!! It is turquoise with a pretty turquoise, purple, blue, green variegated. And it was loaded with goodies! Trust me, the pictures do not do this bag justice at all!!!

Sorry, I know it has been more then a couple days, but the last time I tried to post, blogger was having a bad day so It did not work out very well!

My niece's Birthday was July 4, so I made her a red, white and blue doll blanket using Bev's kitty's in a row

And lastly, as of Monday, july 9, I have another nephew! So of course I had to make him something!!! I found this pattern in one of my many crochet patterns, and I am too lazy at the moment to go look it up.

So I have been crocheting lately, I just have not been taking pics and posting them. Between being stressed out about money and bills and all that crap, and then the lovely preggo hormones, I have not felt like doing much except sitting in front of the tv and crocheting, or doing nothing. I am happy I finally have my car back. Long story short, my brakes went out over a week ago. The brake line had rusted through. My brother was nice enough to fix them, but that was really the last thing I needed to put money into right now. And of course hubby is totally taking advantage of the fact that I am home and has taken off pretty much every night last week and this week to go hang out with friends. Of course leaving me all day with a 2 year old. I love my son, but I need a break too!!! Anyway, I am sure that will not happen, but it is awful nice to dream right.

So one would think as much as I long for my days off and weekends that I would not be so stinking bored at home. Of course it is not much fun being home with a 2 year old all day, and then when the hubby gets home, he figures that since I am not at work that he can do whatever and I am still watching a 2 year old all night. I love my son, but I am also 7 months preggos, there is only so much I can take. Well verdict of today is that I am at least off the rest of this week. I get to call on Friday about next week. So yeah, at least 3 more days off being paid jack-crap on the wonderful unemployment system the state has set up. Granted I am happy I am getting paid at all, but I would rather be working and making decent money instead of sitting home all day making crap that I can not even live off of. I will never understand how people can sit around not having a job, and suck the welfare system dry. now I am not saying that all people on Welfare are like that, just the ones that are too lazy to go get a job. Welfare is a great system, unfortunately WAY to many people abuse it, and that sucks. But anyways, I guess I am done for the day. I am just bored and really want to go back to work.

So I said I was not going to say much about my job, but I just have to vent. I am temporally laid off, and it is driving me nuts! I am enjoying all the free time I have, and getting to spend time with my little booger and hubby, but I am stressed to the max about our money situation. Like half of the free world, me and hubby made some bad decisions and have a bit of debt. We weighed our options and find a wonderful program to help us out so that it would not come down to bankruptcy. Well if I continue to be laid off, I am not quite sure what we are going to do. I know that this situation is nothing I can control but I am obligated to this program to a certain amount every paycheck. They will work with me to a point, but I am not sure how far or long they can go. Plus on top of everything being 7 months pregnant I am not in a position to run out and go find another job. I really hope I get some great news today when I call into work, but at this point I am not holding my breath for anything.
Just when it seems there are blue skies ahead it starts down pouring again. . .

And then there is that Ebay situation! Me and hubby have been going through the house to try and clean out and maybe make a few buck in the process. We put a couple things up on Ebay, and one of them sold right away. This was awesome, thinking great, We will have a couple extra bucks to take care of a few things. Well the idiot that bought our item has not returned any on my emails or messages or even responded to the invoices I have sent. The account is not very old, so unfortunately I am sure it is a scam account just meant to tie down my item for at least the 7 days Ebay requires me to wait to do anything. Thankfully I can file my dispute tomorrow and that I never send anything out until I have gotten paid, but this added to all the rest is not great for my situation. I will never understand why some people do such stupid things and try to scam others. Bunch of idiots we have to deal with. I know they will get theirs but in the mean time they are very annoying to the rest of us.

I am still here!!!! We found out about 2 weeks ago that the still baking newest member of the clan is indeed another boy. And he was overly eager to show us that he had a pepe!!! Of course his borother was the same way! That's my boys! of course one thing he is doing that booger never did is to push out all the time! It hurts!!! and man is he active! I do not remember if booger was this active so soon. It is nice, do not get me wrong, but we still have about 20 weeks to go!!! If he is already beating the crap out of me, think of what it is going to be like in 10 weeks!!!!!! Oh well Time to get ready to go to work!!!!!

So I have neglected my blog for a while, heck I think my son uses my computer (remember he is only 1.5 years old, he is not really using in a construction way, more like a destructive way!) more then I do!!!!!

So, Since I have not been around lately, I think I will fill you in. I found out in dec that hellion #2 is on the way some time in early Aug. Of course lucky for me pregnancy is a breeze. No morning sickness of any kind, only mild, yet very annoying cramps, and those are only once in a while. Other then having to pee ALLLLL the time, it is nice not having to deal with hell week for the next couple months. So at this point, we have about 3-4 weeks before our ultrasound to find out, and yes, if the little monster will let us, we ARE finding out!!!!! I hate to be surprised. Of course if it is a girl, we do not have the money to run out and buy a whole new wardrobe for her, so she is going to have to live in hand-me-downs for a while. I am sure for the first 2 years it should not cause too much damage!!!

Oh well. My 2 boys are in bed, so that means I have a few minutes to actually work on something, like to crochet!!!!!! So until next time (which might be awhile!!!!)

So I figured that since everyone else in the free world has a blog, I should probably start one too! Let's begin, I am married, and have a son, who shall be referred to as: booger, boogerman, the little booger, etc. You can blame my hubby for that one. I have a boring job, that I am not going to discuss very much, well because it is boring. In my household, my hubby and I have a rottweiler, who is the biggest couch potatoe in the world, and who also hogs WAY to much of the bed :) My hubby also has 9 snakes (too many in my opinion) and a bearded dragon. I am hopelessly addicted to yarn, (really just ask my husband :)) and I LOVE to crochet! I am also a geek and like to play Counter-strike, which is an online computer game where you basically blow up stuff and shoot at each other (great stress reliever) Of course since the little booger, I have not had as much time as I would like to play, but that is ok because that means I get to crochet more! I also love the Sims. I like playing overlord and controling little people in my Sims world! Also a great stress reliever! I also am addicted to Origami! I love folding bits of paper and creating a masterpiece! Oh yes, I forgot to mention, I have 20 piercings, 19 tattoos, and I shave my head because I like it that way.

So, now that I have introduced myself, time for the blogging! So I signed up for my very first exchange through one of the awesome crochet sites I belong to. I totally forgot to take pics of the fabulous items I made for my partner, and it went into the mail today! I just hope she likes them and is kind enough to post some pics on her blog. Other then that I am looking forward to thursday, which is Thanksgiving. Of course it is going to be a very busy day filled with to much food, and way to much driving! Oh well, time to pack on those pounds I just lost! Oh well, time to get in a few minutes of crochet before bed! Hope you enjoy!
